Celebrate National Walking Day in Howden

Share

Walking for 30 to 60 minutes a day may not sound like much but studies have shown that it can drastically improve your health and that’s what National Walking Day is for, to celebrate being the healthiest version of you.

This year it falls on April 3rd and across our developments in Yorkshire we are surrounded by scenic trails and walks to help you get out there, get your steps in, and discover the local area.

Here’s a few of our favourite trails near our Saddlers Grange development for you to explore…

Saddlers Grange, Howden

Howden Marsh: Just a stone's throw from our Saddlers Grange development is Howden Marsh, a well loved nature reserve. The reserve has a mixture of habitats and it is perfect for a peaceful dog walk, spot of fishing and bird watching. The recently renovated boardwalk has greatly improved access to the area providing everyone with a chance to glimpse at some of Howden’s wildlife.

Howden Circular Walk: Starting from the War Memorial in Howden town centre, this 5 mile trail is a
perfect loop around Howden. Taking an average of 1hr 55mins to complete the walk takes you through plenty of open fields to let off well behaved dogs and enjoy a real sense of freedom and tranquillity, however, it can get muddy at parts so walking boots and wellies are advised.
